The What’s Next Book Group will meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.

AUGUST BOOKGROUP NEWS:

With room for a few more folks , we meet again (back to third Tuesdays) on Tuesday, August 20, 7-8:30pm at Louisa Davis’s home at 125 North Kenwood Ave, but rsvp, 240-338-5156

We will be reading the brilliantly whimsical and lyrical debut novel of Brian Doyle, Mink River (2010, 300pgs)—available used everywhere.  “In a small fictional town on the Oregon coast there are love affairs and almost-love-affairs, mystery and hilarity, bears and tears, brawls and boats, a garrulous logger and a silent doctor, rain and pain, Irish immigrants and Salish stories, a philosophizing crow and a river that confesses.”

Save Sept 17 for gathering at Susan Sterrett’s and bring your recommendations, loosely rotating fiction and nonfiction for now.
