Geoffery Moore will read and comment on some short, lively poems by men and women mystic poets who lived hundreds of years ago, including Rumi, Hafiz, Kabir, Rabia, Mira, Catherine of Sienna and others. These poets call us to think more deeply about the centrality of joy to a flourishing life. They believed that laughter, playfulness and childlikeness open up our hearts and help us to find joy in unexpected places and ways. Geoffery taught at Institute for Lifelong Education at Dartmouth, leading classes in Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations, World Religions, and Mystic Poets. He sometimes reflects on mystic poets in his blog: TheLivingConversation.com.
