Poker Night with Peter Greene

Interest having been expressed in getting people together to learn how to play poker, I volunteered to organize this, having more poker chips than any of the other candidates.

So the plan is to get together at July 27th and August 3rd from 7 PM until 9 or until we’ve had enough, whichever comes first.    The initial session will mostly be going over the standard games, betting, and strategy.  The second can be more of the same or just playing poker, as the group sees fit.

We will cover the standard poker games with the exclusion of Texas Hold ‘em.  It’s overly promoted as actually being a variant of poker, and is too complicated, anyway.

I will provide chips, cards, glasses and ice for whatever beverage(s) you wish to bring.

Poker is a good excuse to get together for a friendly competition and conversation.   I don’t wish to create an atmosphere in which people feel they need to become the next Amarillo Slim.  Sit, relax, play and let card karma take over.
