Baltimore in the 1960's a Friends of Canton Library presentation

Baltimore in the 1960s, An Unsettled Time. Presented by the Friends of Canton Library.

Dnipro Ukranian Club across the street from the Canton Library at 3101 O’Donnell Street.

Jack Burkhart, a lifelong educator, is once again doing a lively program about the history of Baltimore.

The 1960s were remarkable for the change, turmoil and violence that seemed epidemic throughout America. Baltimore was no exception, and yet the decade was host to many positive changes in its citizens: lifestyles, the jobs they hed, and the urban infrastructure they both created and prevented. This program offers stories and the era: persona, communal, commercial and industrial. This is how the city and its people reacted to change and met many of the challenges of this, the decade of the 1960s.

Meet at the Dnipro club at 2 pm. RSVP if you’d like to join a group for cocktails in Canton after the presentation.
