Virtual Tour of Walters Art Museum with Ann Wolfe

Ann Wolfe, Walters Art Museum docent and What’s Next member is offering two virtual tours of special collections at the Walters to What’s Next members.

The first on Wednesday, August 4th at 2 pm. Landscape Painting.  Immerse yourself in the natural world and explore the evolution of landscape painting.  Discover why some artists chose to depict nature as calm and harmonious, while others depict it as a chaotic, wild environment.

Then, on Sunday, August 8th at 2 pm. Home, Health, and Heart.  Art is an expression of the human experience.  Over time, many artists have depicted the experience of poor health, poverty, and lack of housing.  These works teach us about the lives of those often removed from history, but also expose the biases of the artists and their cultural milieu.  Take a closer look at art and objects from the Walters Art Museum in this genre, and  discuss how artists and the culture of their time shaped those portrayals.

RSVP to get the Zoom Link.
