What’s Next
Bicycle Group

1. Who can ride with the group?
Rides are open to any member of What’s Next. To join a ride, you must RSVP (rides have a rider limit) and you must sign a waiver form. The ride leader will have you sign the waiver form the day of the event. You’ll also be asked to provide emergency contact information. Here’s a copy of the waiver.

2. When & where are the rides? Weekly Bike Ride starting in December (see below)
Some rides are in the city, leaving from Patterson Park or Fells Point, others may be on local trails and require transporting your bike to the trail head. Need help with a ride or getting your bike to the ride? Others in the group may be able to help. And here’s a great article from the Baltimore Banner on bike riding in Baltimore City. Getting Around Baltimore Without a Car

3. How do I sign up for a ride?
Every ride announcement on the Events Page will have an RSVP link. You must RSVP to ride. Most rides will have a limit of 8 riders.

4. Is there a fee? What should I bring?
All riders need to have a helmet , bike lock and water bottle. A spare tube is recommended. No fee to ride, but some rides may include a food stop. Here’s a great checklist for what to bring on a bike ride.

5. I’m a beginner, how do I make sure my bike is ready?
The group will have periodic maintenance gatherings led by members if you need some help checking out your bike. Here’s a one page tip sheet to help you check out your bike.

6. What are the rules for riding with the group?
Each ride will have a “ride leader” who will go over the route, make sure the waiver form is signed and review safety rules before ride begins. Safe Biking Rules.
