What’s Next…. neighbors supporting each other and our community as we age
Our purpose. To help members age at home safely, comfortably, & independently while remaining engaged in the organization and the broader community. We will accomplish this with educational events, social activities, facilitation of volunteer engagement, creation of communication infrastructure, & encouragement of responsible planning for end-of-life.
Our 2025 Annual Meeting
If you missed the Annual Meeting in January …….
You can still see slide show the 2024 photos. Thanks, Kathy, for sharing the link: Slide Show of 2024 Activities
Many thanks to Mollie Fein, our outgoing president for her years of service. In her parting remarks at the annual meeting, she suggested we add these 4 points of clarification to our above Mission. The membership approved with loud applause.
1. Aging is hard.
2. Aging in community is better.
3. Aging with friends in that community is even better.
4. Creating networks of friends in that community is the strength of What’s Next.
We’ve asked our 3 poets to share the poems they recited at the meeting. Click on each poem title to download:
read by Don Renaud: the damnation of Buk by Charles Bukowski
read by Peter Greene: From Whence Cometh My Help by Peter Greene
ready by Geoff Moore: Moderation Is Not a Negation of Intensity, But Helps Avoid Monotony by John Tagliabue
